John Boehner Needs to go....

by the Left Coast Rebel

.....if this is true:

MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough said House Minority Leader John Boehner "is not a hard worker" and cuts out of the Capitol early for bar-hopping evenings in Washington.

On his “Morning Joe” show Wednesday morning, the former Florida Republican congressman described Boehner as a disengaged pol whose work ethic doesn’t hold a candle to that of former House Speaker Newt Gingrich (R-Ga.).

In the past I have gotten the feeling that Boehner is either a 'rummy' or a smoker - his appearance kind of gives that up.

In the least we need leadership in the conservative resurgence that is energetic, invigorated and ready to fight. Especially if the Grand Old Party takes back both houses of Congress. If that is to mean anything to the nation then in the least leadership needs to be far better than the 'cocktails at five' crowd.

Furthermore, while I'm 'going there,' John Boehner has been in office too long and was far too cozy (not to mention abetting) George W. Bush's record of profligate spending, 'No Child Left Behind, lobbyists....

Buh-bye, (hello Paul Ryan or Tom MClintock?)

Lieutenant Colonel Leo K. Thorsness

Citation:

For conspicuous gallantry and intrepidity in action at the risk of his life above and beyond the call of duty. As pilot of an F- 105 aircraft, Lt. Col. Thorsness was on a surface-to-air missile suppression mission over North Vietnam. Lt. Col. Thorsness and his wingman attacked and silenced a surface-to-air missile site with air-to-ground missiles, and then destroyed a second surface-to-air missile site with bombs. In tile attack on the second missile site, Lt. Col. Thorsness' wingman was shot down by intensive antiaircraft fire, and the 2 crewmembers abandoned their aircraft. Lt. Col. Thorsness circled the descending parachutes to keep the crewmembers in sight and relay their position to the Search and Rescue Center. During this maneuver, a MIG-17 was sighted in the area. Lt. Col. Thorsness immediately initiated an attack and destroyed the MIG. Because his aircraft was low on fuel, he was forced to depart the area in search of a tanker. Upon being advised that 2 helicopters were orbiting over the downed crew's position and that there were hostile MlGs in the area posing a serious threat to the helicopters, Lt. Col. Thorsness, despite his low fuel condition, decided to return alone through a hostile environment of surface-to-air missile and antiaircraft defenses to the downed crew's position. As he approached the area, he spotted 4 MIG-17 aircraft and immediately initiated an attack on the MlGs, damaging 1 and driving the others away from the rescue scene. When it became apparent that an aircraft in the area was critically low on fuel and the crew would have to abandon the aircraft unless they could reach a tanker, Lt. Col. Thorsness, although critically short on fuel himself, helped to avert further possible loss of life and a friendly aircraft by recovering at a forward operating base, thus allowing the aircraft in emergency fuel condition to refuel safely. Lt. Col. Thorsness' extraordinary heroism, self-sacrifice, and personal bravery involving conspicuous risk of life were in the highest traditions of the military service, and have reflected great credit upon himself and the U.S. Air Force.

Lt. Col. Thorsness: We humbly salute you and thank you for your service.

There are fewer than a hundred living MoH recipients today. Their names and their stories should not be forgotten. My mission is to honor one of those heroes here each week, and salute them for their courage and sacrifice. In the words of John Fitzgerald Kennedy:

(PHOTOS) Anna Chapman, Hottie Turned Russian Spy

by the Left Coast Rebel

Almost forgot - there's a femme fatale angle on the Russian spy ring. NY Post has information on her:

A ring of 11 Russian moles right out of a Cold War spy novel was smashed yesterday — and among those busted was a flame-haired, 007-worthy beauty who flitted from high-profile parties to top-secret meetings around Manhattan.

Russian national Anna Chapman — a 28-year-old divorcee with a masters in economics, an online real-estate business, a fancy Financial District apartment and a Victoria’s Secret body — had been passing information to a Russian government official every Wednesday since January, authorities charged.

Femme fatale Anna Chapman was no slouch, though:
In one particularly slick spy exchange on St. Patrick’s Day, Chapman pulled a laptop out of a tote bag in a bookstore at Warren and Greenwich streets in the West Village while her handler lurked outside, receiving her message on his own computer, the feds said. A similar exchange occurred at a Midtown coffee shop at 47th Street and 8th Ave.

Last week, an undercover agent pretending to be a Russian official arranged a meeting to talk about the weekly laptop exchanges, pretending to be ready to send the sexy spy on a mission to deliver a fake passport to another female agent, according to the federal complaint.

Chapman allegedly was also supposed to hold a magazine under her arm so her counterpart would recognize her, and plant a stamp on a wall map indicate the handoff was a success.

Another spy-movie-like maneuver took place in Brooklyn shortly after the meeting with the undercover agent when Chapman darted into a Verizon phone store to buy a cell using the name Irine Kutsov, and an address of "99 Fake Street," the feds said. She only planned to use the phone to "avoid detection of her conversations," the FBI alleged.

Photos of the Russian spy Anna Chapman:

anna_chapman_facebook13.jpg

anna_chapman_facebook08.jpg

When I read about Anna Chapman I wondered what kind of punishment she would face. Jeff Stein in WaPo reveals some facts on this:

No death penalty here. The three busted in Arlington, Va. were charged with conspiracy to act as an agent of a foreign government, which carries a maximum penalty of five years in prison. Two of the ten busted were also charged with conspiracy to commit money laundering, which carries a sentence of up to 20 years in prison. Since we don't have a Glienicke bridge between east and west Berlin anymore, my guess is they will be quietly stuffed on an Aeroflot back to Moscow. The government got what it wanted with the publicity of this case.

Death penalties are applied to US citizens who commit treason, not foreign spies. . . If any of these are shipped back (after they're convicted) we'll only do it for something in return. Offhand I'm not aware of any CIA officer in a Russian jail.

Russian "Illegal" Spies Lived Like Normal Americans

by the Left Coast Rebel

The New York Times has an interesting story up regarding the 11 people (so called ''illegals") supposedly living unremarkable, suburban American lives yet spying (for years) for the S.V.R. (the successor to the KGB):

The alleged agents were directed to gather information on nuclear weapons, American policy toward Iran, C.I.A. leadership, Congressional politics and many other topics, prosecutors say. The Russian spies made contact with a former high-ranking American national security official and a nuclear weapons researcher, among others. But the charges did not include espionage, and it was unclear what secrets the suspected spy ring — which included five couples — actually managed to collect.
The details sound like they are straight out of an Iam Fleming story:

Criminal complaints filed in Federal District Court in Manhattan on Monday read like an old-fashioned cold war thriller: Spies swapping identical orange bags as they brushed past one another in a train station stairway. An identity borrowed from a dead Canadian, forged passports, messages sent by shortwave burst transmission or in invisible ink. A money cache buried for years in a field in upstate New York.

But the network of so-called illegals — spies operating under false names outside of diplomatic cover — also used cyber-age technology, according to the charges. They embedded coded texts in ordinary-looking images posted on the Internet, and they communicated by having two agents with laptops containing special software pass casually as messages flashed between them.
And like I said, they completely blended in in suburbia and even had American born children:
Neighbors in Montclair, N.J., of the couple who called themselves Richard and Cynthia Murphy were flabbergasted when a team of F.B.I. agents turned up Sunday night and led the couple away in handcuffs. One person who lives nearby called them “suburbia personified,” saying that they had asked people for advice about the local schools. Others worried about the Murphys’ elementary-age daughters.
UK's Telegraph explains that this bunch weren't quite the harmless middle-classers that they appeared to be (also, I wonder if even they were shocked by the corruption they found in our Congressional politics):

The FBI arrested 10 people for allegedly serving for years as secret agents of Russia's intelligence service, the SVR, with the goal of penetrating US government policy-making circles.

It is alleged that they were tasked with gleaning intelligence on nuclear weapons, foreign policy and Congressional politics.

The 10 arrested are accused of conspiracy to act as unlawful agents of a foreign government. Nine of them also face a charge of conspiracy to launder money.

An 11th suspect named "Christopher R Metsos" was arrested on Tuesday in Cyprus.

It also emerged that one of the 10 was in contact with a subsidiary group of Oxford University.

A subsidiary group of Oxford? What, the faculty and majority of professors? It wouldn't surprise me. After all, Putin was said to have waxed fondly for the 'glory days' of the USSR, perhaps leftist academics do too.

Joker Turned Senator Al Franken Bored to Tears over Elena Kagan

kagan

by the Left Coast Rebel

Why was Al Franken so bored at Elena Kagan's testimony today? Perhaps it's because Al Franken knows what is bouncing around in Elena Kagan's skull and considers the 'hearings' even less than a moot point. Does liberalism cause narcolepsy?:

Or does narcolepsy cause liberalism?

Narcolepsy of the brain, if I were to surmise from Elena Kagan's empty, flowery, worthless speechifying today.

Exit question - Does, "I've learned that we make progress by listening to each other across every apparent political or ideological divide..."

Substitute, 'I do solemnly swear to faithfully and impartially discharge and perform all the duties incumbent upon me as associate justice of the Supreme Court of the United States under the Constitution and laws of the Unites States, so help me God?'

If so, then perhaps the 'redistribution of wealth to it's rightful owners' really has replaced 'the pursuit of happiness.'

Robert Byrd R.I.P.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Sen. Robert Byrd of West Virginia has died at age 92. He became a Senator in 1958, but had served six years in the House before that. In national politics since 1952, Robert Byrd spend 58 of his 92 years as a Washington insider. Over half his life, certainly over half his adult life, on the government payroll.

As a human being, we mourn his passing. As a force in politics, as odious as the man was, naming every pork project in West Virginia after himself, he may be a net loss to the Democrat party. Sure the Democratic governor will appoint his replacement. But, had Senator Byrd even maintained a pulse until after July 3rd, that appointment would not have faced reelection for more than two years. Now, it's four months until November, and whoever the appointment is, will have to spend his or her time campaigning to retain that seat.

And for all his faults, Byrd probably subscribed to a stricter moral code than the current crop of Democrats. There may be subtle ways in which we will miss the man in his absence, as he will no longer be an anchor to the party's headlong slide into socialism.

Biden's Ice Cream Before Taxes

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Biden Gets told to "lower our taxes" by Manager at Kopp's Frozen Custard in Glendale, Minnesota

Biden

A small business manager retaining his income? Now that's a smartass notion - and a big f*cking deal.

by the Left Coast Rebel

Reality for progressive-collectivists outside of the Beltway/lame stream press/academia bubble often hits a brick wall. That's why it's so funny to see 'plugs' Joe Biden confronted by an everday citizen that owns a small custard business in Wisconsin to, "lower our taxes." Imagine, the little people see beyond generational theft and a government bleeding a nation's prosperity!

Clifton over at Another Black Conservative writes:

Reality is a bitch. You can try to ignore it, try to duck it and even try to avoid it, but sooner or later reality will have its way. This administration loves to go around pretending that the stimulus has worked and that they “saved” or created jobs.
Watch it:

For his quip, the manager of Kopp's Frozen Custard in Glendale, Minnesota was regarded as a 'smartass' by Biden. If you watched the video above though, it all seems to be somewhat in jest.

Although, of course, any progressive-collectivist such as VP Joe Biden would consider it a 'smartass' notion that one would retain a majority of one's earnings.

I'd say Joe got by pretty easy on this one. If I had been **** I would have told him to tell his boss to 'stop forcing the tenets of Marx and Engel, to consider what the debt will do to future Americans and that the Federal government has no business spreading the wealth.'

Oh yah, almost forgot the most important thing too - 'cut taxes and spending' because there's no such thing as a free lunch or custard.

Now that would be a big f*cking deal and I would be the new 'Joe the plumber' (but much smarter and coherent...)

I never knew that by changing my political beliefs that I would find my faith, change the course of my life and end a self destructive pattern of victimhood.

Liberal Media Bias? Press Caught Bashing Palin on Open Mic at Cal State Stanislaus

by the Left Coast Rebel

The worst thing about systemic liberal media bias is that the media denies it even exists. Those of us with two brain cells to rub together know better:

Breitbart
captions the incident above:

Following a live feed of Sarah Palin's speech at Cal State Stanislaus, reporters are caught openly trashing the former Vice Presidential candidate. The audio went out on the live feed supplied by Fox 40.

Dan Riehl highlights how this story was broken by 3 ladies proving how effective the fifth estate has become:
"@sistertoldjah I am already sick of Weigel. We have a big expose on MSM bias, and it gets little attention" twittered rising blog star Cubachi a few minutes ago. We checked out her story and Sister Toldjah's on-the-scent post, and eureka! Those two new-media woman warriors and a handful of nightowls (see below) were witness in the wee hours to a Weigel-like revelation as unidentified "newsmen" covering Sarah Palin's controversial California State University Stanislaus speech felt free to spew the Palin's-a-Pinhead party line into the ether when they didn't realize the microphone was still on.
Read the rest here. Sister Toldjah has a great rundown on the affair (and her own Memeo thread, woo-hoo!), along with a partial transcript taken from the video above:

Anyway, she gave a great speech as always (commentary/live Tweets are here) but at times the Fox40 live feed was hard to hear – they were having audio issues. But at the end of the speech is where it got interesting. Here’s what some of the audio/camera guys** were saying:

“The dumbness doesn’t just come from soundbites.”

[...]

“I can’t believe she quoted Kennedy – twice.”

[...]

“how am I going to write about this-there’s nothing there-answer well there’s your story” (source for this quote)

Read her report (the best) here as well. Oh yah, almost forgot - Fox40 in Sactown admits the comments were made by 'reporters' but not Fox reporters....does Cubachi prove otherwise?

Imagine if 'reporters' were heard belittling the Obamanation like this (raaaaacism!), would you get any reaction from the libtard-left like this?

Karl Rove Finds Your Lack of Faith Disturbing

Politico has the story of an empire to be built. An empire so eeeeeeeevil that only one man could be its architect: Karl Rove
Image and video hosting by TinyPic

The Republican Party’s best-connected political operatives have quietly built a massive fundraising, organizing and advertising machine based on the model assembled by Democrats early in the decade, and with the same ambitious goal — to recapture Congress and the White House.

The new groups could give Republicans and their allies a powerful campaign apparatus separate from the Republican National Committee. Karl Rove, political architect of the Bush presidency, and Ed Gillespie, former Republican Party chairman, are the most prominent forces behind what is, in effect, a network of five overlapping groups, three of which were started in the past few months.

The operating assumption of Rove, Gillespie and the other organizers is that despite the historical dominance of Republican fundraising and organizing, the GOP has been outmaneuvered by Democrats and their allies in recent years, and it is time to strike back.

Man! Just the thought of Karl Rove reentering the fray has these guys crapping their nappies!

“Where they have a chess piece on the board, we need a chess piece on the board,” said Gillespie, who is involved in all five groups in roles ranging from chairman to informal adviser. “Where they have a queen, we shouldn’t have three pawns.”

And by "queen", I'm sure he wasn't referring to the slightly effeminate (and French looking) John Kerry! Heh.

Michelle Bachmann Wins Ten Bucks Friday Poll

Michele
Today's Ten Buck Friday winner - Minnesota Rep. Michelle Bachmann

by the Left Coast Rebel

As RightKlik says, liberals love to loathe her so it should come as no surprise that Michelle Bachmann won today's Ten Bucks Friday. RightKlik:

Congratulations to Michele Bachmann for winning this week's Ten Buck Fridays. In a ten-way race, Bachmann ran away with 42% of the vote.

Bachmann is certainly a worthy conservative candidate who faces a tough fight in the fall. Liberals love to loathe Michele Bachmann, and they're ready to invest large quantities of cash to beat her in November.

So please, if you can afford to give Michele Bachman a little cash this week, send an Alexander Hamilton to Bachmann for Congress. (And if you're not participating in the current recession, perhaps you'd like to send a Jackson, or even a Benjamin.)
Also, Reaganite just joined the ranks of the 21st Century Minutemen (love that phrase) and has a great list of supporting sites. He writes:

A noble New-Media grassroots effort to fund true conservatives going into midterm elections has been launched... this initiative is dubbed Ten-Buck Fridays. No, it's not an all-you-can-drink TGIF happy-hour special (you wish, you lush- lol).
xxx
Rather -as the name implies- these top conservative bloggers implore you to kick some cash to a featured Reaganite-type conservative candidate each Friday, whenever you can... and every $10 helps.

Reaganite also puts a great $20 Reagan face on the idea. Go here to read his post, the list of great bloggers promoting this idea, and to follow his site as well.

U.S. District Court Judge Martin Feldman: Overturns Moratorium and Receives Death Threats for Following the Law

Align CenterGulf Oil Spill
Above - U.S. District Court Judge Martin Feldman

by the Left Coast Rebel

This morning, KOOK brought your attention to the leftist/Obama attempt to take adavantage of the gulf oil spill. I'm pointing you to perhaps the first FDR era-esque pushback from massive Federal power grabs from the Leviathan. His name is Judge Martin L.C. Feldman and he's not backing down from his ruling to lift the moratorium on drilling:

The Interior Department had petitioned Judge Martin L.C. Feldman late Wednesday to grant a stay of his decision, which lifted a ban on new drilling projects and on work on the 33 rigs already in place in the gulf.

But Feldman said he was denying the delay for the same reasons he gave for his decision Tuesday: that the moratorium was doing "irreparable harm" to the businesses in the gulf that depend on drilling activity and that the government had not given sufficient basis for the moratorium.

The Republic lives as does perhaps limits on an all-powerful, extra-constitutional executive branch. Nevertheless, for striking down 'Hugo' Obama's knee jerk moratorium, Judge Martin L.C. Feldman has had to face that which the far-left does best - violent intimidation when things don't go their way:

New Orleans--While many Americans undoubtedly agree with the decision of U.S. District Court Judge Martin Feldman to overturn the Obama administration’s moratorium on deep water drilling, not everyone is happy. In fact, the Judge is now receiving death threats in the aftermath of his bold ruling.

Last night, Feldman served as a celebrity judge at a cooking contest at a school gymnasium in Uptown New Orleans. Due to the threats, Feldman was accompanied by a federal marshal security team.

It is a sad indictment of our society today that a judge with such a sterling record of integrity and service to his country would be subject to such threats. Feldman was appointed to the federal bench by President Reagan in 1983. Today, he is in the eye of a political hurricane unlike anything he has ever experienced.
It is a sad, pathetic indictment of our society that Judge Feldman would have to fear for his life by basically following the letter of the law. Perhaps though, it is not surprising considering that we have a 'community organizer' sitting in the Oval Office.

The violent left is just taking community-agitating to it's logical conclusion. God Bless and protect Judge Martin L.C. Feldman and those of us that stand up to the mob, for the rule of law and the Constitution.

Bin Laden Hunter Gary Faulkner, "I'll try Again"

by the Left Coast Rebel

You just have to love this guy's resolve. Or perhaps, is he just crazy?

DENVER – A Colorado man who traveled to Pakistan to hunt down Osama bin Laden said he'll "absolutely" try again, despite his arrest in the woods of northern Pakistan.

Gary Faulkner returned home to Greeley, Colo., late Wednesday after being detained June 13.....

You have to love what he was packing:

....when authorities found him armed with a pistol, a sword and night-vision equipment. He was eventually moved to Islamabad before being released without charges Wednesday morning, according to his brother.

Could this guy take out Bin Laden with a katana?:

Gambling Away California's Wealth, one ATM/welfare Card at a Time

by the Left Coast Rebel

Just imagine how ludicrous this story is and what is says about the welfare state that surrounds, and robs from us that work hard to make a living:

More from the Los Angeles Times:

California welfare recipients are able to use state-issued debit cards to withdraw cash on gaming floors in more than half of the casinos in the state, a Los Angeles Times review of records found.

The cards, provided by the Department of Social Services to help recipients feed and clothe their families, work in automated teller machines at 32 of 58 tribal casinos and 47 of 90 state-licensed poker rooms, the review found.

State officials said Wednesday they were working to determine how much money had been withdrawn from casino ATMs by people using the welfare debit cards.

This story is nothing more than a teachable moment on just how greedy eager progressive-collectivists are to plunder the treasury of a once proud, Golden State. Did you know that almost 3 out of ten people in Los Angeles receive some sort of state 'assistance?' And that the illegal immigration/welfare state situation has turned many once-desirable areas of California into third world cities?

Perhaps the outrage of this story is not that welfare recipients cash out their welfare-atm cards at casinos but that welfare recipients in California even receive 'welfare-atm cards.'

Time for some tough love in California - time to cut off 80% of the welfare state. Don't let Obama bring this vision of America to you.

I'm Baaaaaaack!

Just flew into California tonight (and boy are my arms tired!) Things should be getting back to normal tomorrow. I want to thank Left Coast Rebel for taking up some of the slack and keeping the fixes coming for the political junkies who hang out here.
Although, after seeing that "Naked Cowgirl" photo, I may have to ask for his Secret Decoder Ring back! Heh.

Rory 2010 for the Nevada Governor Seat - Where's the Last Name?

by the Left Coast Rebel

First, watch the video:

Ah, yes. Kids, state-run education (that has such an incredible track record in the last 50 years)...kumbaya & warm fuzzies. Rory for Nevada sounds great - doesn't he?

Look, he even has grey hair and looks rather mature...wait....

I think I recognize that face (and mostly those ears)....

Oh no....

harry rory

As they say, the statist-collectivist, sell your grandchildren to slavery apple doesn't fall from the tree.

So sorry, 'Rory,' you aren't going to be able to take the 'Reid' out of your name.

And 'it's for the chillrens' ain't gonna cut it.

The Medal of Honor

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Petty Officer Michael Edwin Thornton

Citation:

For conspicuous gallantry and intrepidity at the risk of his life above and beyond the call of duty while participating in a daring operation against enemy forces. PO Thornton, as Assistant U.S. Navy Advisor, along with a U.S. Navy lieutenant serving as Senior Advisor, accompanied a 3-man Vietnamese Navy SEAL patrol on an intelligence gathering and prisoner capture operation against an enemy-occupied naval river base. Launched from a Vietnamese Navy junk in a rubber boat, the patrol reached land and was continuing on foot toward its objective when it suddenly came under heavy fire from a numerically superior force. The patrol called in naval gunfire support and then engaged the enemy in a fierce firefight, accounting for many enemy casualties before moving back to the waterline to prevent encirclement. Upon learning that the Senior Advisor had been hit by enemy fire and was believed to be dead, PO Thornton returned through a hail of fire to the lieutenant's last position; quickly disposed of 2 enemy soldiers about to overrun the position, and succeeded in removing the seriously wounded and unconscious Senior Naval Advisor to the water's edge. He then inflated the lieutenant's lifejacket and towed him seaward for approximately 2 hours until picked up by support craft. By his extraordinary courage and perseverance, PO Thornton was directly responsible for saving the life of his superior officer and enabling the safe extraction of all patrol members, thereby upholding the highest traditions of the U.S. Naval Service.

Petty Officer Thornton: We humbly salute you and thank you for your service.

There are fewer than a hundred living MoH recipients today. Their names and their stories should not be forgotten. My mission is to honor one of those heroes here each week, and salute them for their courage and sacrifice. In the words of John Fitzgerald Kennedy:

More on that Obama Executive Order-for-amnesty Rumor

by the Left Coast Rebel

I was just reading Michelle Malkin this morning and she thinks that it is possible:

This administration has accomplished its major policy agenda items through force, fiat, and fraud. Immigration will be no different.

More to the point, as I’ve reported many times and in-depth in my blog posts, colum ns, and books, open-borders activists and open-borders politicians have accomplished illegal alien amnesty-by-special order with almost no grass-roots resistance for years.

She points readers to a 2004 video from Chicago in which Obama advocates trading border security for amnesty:

What can we do? Make your voice heard. Millions of us have to.

UPDATED: This was carried at LCR as a separate post:

This is treasonous:

November 2 can't come fast enough. Your tax dollars at work:
U.S. SECRETARY OF LABOR HILDA SOLIS: “You work hard, and you have the right to be paid fairly. I’m U.S. Secretary of Labor Hilda Solis and it is a serious problem in this country when workers are not being paid every cent they have earned. Remember, every worker in America has a right to be paid fairly, whether documented or not. So call us, it is free and confidential….”
UPDATEDx2: Via the Hill, Arizona Dems begging the Obamanation to drop the 'sue Arizona' gambit:

Arizona Democrats facing tough reelection races are distancing themselves from the Obama administration as it prepares to file a lawsuit against the state over its controversial immigration law.

Rep. Harry Mitchell (D-Ariz.) on Monday sent a sharply worded letter to President Barack Obama urging him not to sue.

“I believe your administration’s time, efforts and resources would be much better spent securing the border and fixing our broken immigration system,” the two-term congressman wrote in the letter. “Arizonans are tired of the grandstanding, and tired of waiting for help from Washington. … [A] lawsuit won’t solve the problem. It won’t secure the border, and it won’t fix our broken immigration system.”

How ironic. This happened while The One delivered his propaganda remarks on the Orwellian-named "Affordable Care Act" today at the White House. In fact the health care takeover stinks so damned bad that apparently even the smallest looters among us can smell it miles away:

Sandy Kane, AKA, Naked Cowgirl Being Sued by Todd Rubenstein, the Naked Cowboy?

by the Left Coast Rebel

Anyone that has visited New York's Times Square has probably seen the highly esteemable permanent Manhattan fixture known as the 'naked cowboy.' Well, as you know he not actually naked but he does make his 'living' singing and playing guitar in briefs and a cowboy hat - his name is Robert Burck and he's 38 years old. What a weird world we live in - he even has a 'manager' by the name of Todd Rubenstein. What he manages, is up to the imagination.

Anyway that which is weird often becomes that much weirder. There seems to be a naked cow(something) turf war of sorts ensuing...NYPost:
Times Square isn't big enough for the two of them.

The Naked Cowboy claims a bawdy, bikini-clad female busker who calls herself "The Naked Cowgirl" is ripping off his shtick, and he's threatening to lasso her into court for as much as $150,000.

The cowboy, whose real name is Robert Burck, sent a cease-and-desist letter to his foil, Sandy Kane, a fixture of the city comedy scene and former stripper famous for closing her act by lighting her breasts on fire.

"Your use of Naked Cowgirl is essentially identical to the Naked Cowboy and is clearly in violation" of Burck's trademark, read the letter.

There must be millions searching for the naked cowgirl since this story came out, judging by the fact that her site's bandwidth has been exceeded. Now before you guys out there get any ideas on this 'naked cowgirl' gal, I want to warn you. All is not well and good in naked cowgirl land:

naked_cowgirl

Then again, perhaps it was - many years ago. The 'naked cowgirl's' (and thank God she's not) name is Sandy Kaneand she's in her 50s. We'll see how this plays out. For now, I say 'cover up', please.

Cato Institute's new Site: Downsizing the Federal Government

by the Left Coast Rebel

This morning CNBC ran a program on worldwide economic 'austerity' which essenentially comes down to developed nations raising taxes and America spending itself into generational bankruptcy. Cato's Tad DeHaven was on hand to combat the Keynsian 'spend yourself into prosperity' typical media go-to-guy.

I noted the hostility that the CNBC talking-bobblehead along with the guest treated Cato's Tad Dehaven. If anything other than predictable, it gave me an excuse then to plug Cato's new site Downsizing the Federal Government which lists Federal bureaucracy by egregious bureaucracy and ways that they can be cut, scaled back, etc.

Just my kind of organization. Here's a video:

J.D. Hayworth Channels Matthew Lesko/Question Mark Guy?

by the Left Coast Rebel

I'm sure all of you have seen this idiot before:

The 'free government money'/question mark guy's name is Matthew Lesko and has been on telivision doing hawking free 'gubbmint' money for years (it's a scam although the philosophy is alive and well in the Democrat Party).

Did J.D. Hayworth channel Matthew Lesko in 2007?:

Does this infomercial-revelation fry J.D. Hayworth's chance at beating McAmnesty? You tell me. AllahPundit offers this:

Besides, most of the people who are still with him at this point are surely diehard McCain-haters, prone to shiver at the mere mention of the word “Maverick.” Hayworth could don a Lesko jacket and jaunty Willy Wonka top hat and start spinning like Julie Andrews in “The Sound of Music” shouting “freeee moneeey” and that crowd would still vote for him.
Hmm, I am a diehard McCain hater so where does that put me? I'll never forget 2007's McCain/Bush/Kennedy amnesty among other McCain injustices. He should never be reelected even if that means writing in 'Mickey Mouse' instead.

Ten Buck Friday Poll

I've posted the "Ten Buck" Friday poll in the upper right hand corner. These results are cumulative from all the blogs where it is posted, so you only need to vote once and your vote will be tabulated.

Each Friday between now and the November elections, you will be encouraged to send ten dollars a week, either to the winner of the poll or the candidate of your choice.

The advantage of sending it to the poll winners will have the effect of a "money bomb" which could affect the races to a greater extent.

Sharron Angle of Nevada, running against Harry Reid, was the winner of last week's poll. Give as generously as you can.

On a Personal Note

My participation may be a bit light the next couple days as I crisscross the country.
With any luck, LCR and Lady C can help take up some of the slack while I'm on the road.

The key to the liquor cabinet is in the same place I left it last time. You kids be careful while I'm gone! Heh.

BP Oil Spill: Another Massive Big Government FAIL as State Department Sits on International Aid Offers

by the Left Coast Rebel

We recently summarized the big-government/Obamanation failure that the gulf oil spill represents. Of course, the summary was nothing more than a basic summary and examples flow (no pun intended) in each and every day.

As the oil flows Obama's State Department is sitting on aid offered from 23 separate countries. Jim Hoft got his hands on the documents that show this. This is just the first page of 5 from the State Department's site:

http://gatewaypundit.firstthings.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/06/state-oil.jpg

Page 2 shows that the International Maritime Organization's (IMO) aid has been accepted:

http://gatewaypundit.firstthings.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/06/state-oil-2.jpg

Unsurprsingly, the IMO is part of the United Nations. I wonder which corner of the far-left international 'community' the IMO aid represents? Go to Gateway Pundit to read his whole report, via Memeorandum.

On Useful Idiots and Obama: Jorn Barger at Daily Pundit Nails it

by the Left Coast Rebel

One of the most disconcerting things about the prolific rise of the Obamanation in American press (from gossip rags to daily front page features of 'mainstream' press and the network news) was the deaf ear and eye to the man's radicalism (not to mention mentors - Frank Marshall Davis, anyone?). Withouth the useful idiots that surround us, from WSJ columnist Peggy Noonan to 'conservative' former representative J.C. Watts, the circle wouldn't have been complete. Jorn Barger at Daily Pundit gives thanks (sort of) to the useful idiots among us:

Listen up, you punked, chumped boobs: We looked at Obama not through your rose colored hallucinations, but through the cold, clear spectacles of reality. None of what he’s done since has surprised us one bit. In fact, many of us, myself included, predicted it even before his coronation by people like you. Yes, it’s nice that after a year and a half of horrible examples, the truth about him is finally beginning to penetrate your skulls. But why, for the love of god, couldn’t you see it at the beginning, when it was no less obvious, but your understanding of it might have done some good?

And offers up a prediction:

Actually, never mind. Since Obama’s election will turn out to be the worst thing to happen to the leftist project in America in the past hundred years, and will free a generation from the chains of leftist quackery at just the time such freedom is most sorely needed, I actually thank our lucky stars for useful idiots like you two. Without such, we might have been saddled with John McCain, and that would truly have been a disaster for conservatism, liberty, and America.

Interesting, I sure hope the last section is true.

Profile of a useful idiot, taken to the most extreme conclusion imaginable:

President: Boxer fundraiser more important than Gulf memorial service

(CNN) - According his official schedule, President Obama did not attend the May 25 memorial service in Jackson, Mississippi for the workers who died in the Deepwater Horizon explosion because he was en route to a fundraiser for Sen. Barbara Boxer, D-California, in San Francisco.
At Thursday's White House briefing, Press Secretary Robert Gibbs was asked why Obama did not attend the service. The president's spokesman answered, "I'd have to look at the schedule. I don't know the answer." CNN examined the president's schedule for that day, and according to it, the president left the White House at 2:55 p.m. EST en route to Andrews Air Force Base for the cross-country flight to the San Francisco fundraiser. A Jackson source in possession of the memorial service program told CNN that the service began at 2:00 pm EST and lasted "more than an hour and a half" - putting the president in transit to the fundraiser during the second half of the memorial service.
