Obama: Turn Off CNN

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Did you hear what the President said yesterday about politics and the media?

"You know what I think would actually make a difference... I think if everybody here -- excuse all the members of the press who are here -- if everybody here turned off your CNN, your Fox, your blogs. Just turn off the TV -- MSNBC, blogs -- and just go talk to folks out there, instead of being in this echo chamber where the topic is constantly politics. ... It is much more difficult to get a conversation focused on how are we going to help people than a conversation about how is this going to help or hurt somebody politically."

So, Mr. Obama, let me start the conversation with folks like you! What do you think we should do as far as how are we going to help people? Government grants? Write a new law? Strike down or amend an existing law? Targeted tax breaks? A new government program? Funny! When you boil it all down, you'd still be talking politics! So, as far as I can figure, your problem is not that we're talking politics, but that we're talking about what we want rather than what you want!

You may go back to your echo chamber now, Mr. President. Rahm Emanuel is getting "f'ing tired" of waiting for you!

  1. You hit it just right on this one. Obama doesn't want us to hear the opposing views. Its just that simple! He cannot stand critizism--too thin-skinned. Me thinks the job is starting to get to him and I've got news Barry, it will get worse!

  2. You know what I think would make a difference? Slash the federal government by 50% and give congress 30 days a year to get their business done.

  3. RR: "He cannot stand critizism--too thin-skinned."

I don't remember who said it, but one quote du jour was something along the line of:
"My problem with his skin isn't that it's black, but that it's thin!"

SF: A part time legislature has its attractions. Unfortunately, it seems that most of the legislation and regulations are being cobbled together by unelected bureaucrats. So, just keeping the high visibility scoundrels at bay may not do much.
